Club Dress Policy
The PG&CC dress code is a reflection of the Club’s traditions and values as a long-standing golf and country club on the Peninsula.
Members are responsible for assuring that their families and guests are aware of these standards and abide by them.
These standards apply to all adults and children.
At the direction of the Board of Directors, Club Management will deny privileges to any individual not considered appropriately attired.
7.2.1 Clubhouse Dress Code:
(a) Grille:Proper golf and tennis attire, fashionable matching warm-up suits and Dress Denim are permitted. Swimwear and workout clothing are not allowed. Shirts other than proper golf or tennis attire must have collars and be tucked in. Men are required to remove their hats.
(b) Oval Bar & Oval Lounge: At lunch proper golf and tennis attire is permitted. Swimwear and workout clothing are never allowed. After 7:00 pm Men must be attired in long pants, collared long or short sleeve tucked in shirts and are encouraged to wear a jacket or sports coat. At no time are sandals, flip flops, hats or denim allowed.
(c) The Peninsula Dining Room, Beresford Room and Ballroom:At lunch proper golf and tennis attire is permitted. Swimwear and workout clothing are never allowed. After 5:00 pm Men must be attired in long pants, collared long sleeve tucked in shirts and are encouraged to wear a jacket or sports coat. At no time are sandals, flip flops, hats or denim allowed.
(d) Terrace Café and Pool:Proper attire including appropriate and tasteful swimwear, clean workout clothing, and Dress Denim. Hats (with visor facing forward), sandals, flip-flops, and appropriate and clean T-Shirts are allowed.
(e) Wellness Center:Clean workout attire with appropriate closed toe athletic shoes are allowed. Shirts must be worn at all times and hats (with visors facing forward) are allowed. Denim and short shorts are not allowed.
(f) Kalb Tennis Center:Proper Tennis attire is allowed. Collarless T-Shirts designated as Tennis attire are permitted. Denim is not allowed. Only appropriate tennis shoes may be worn on the courts.
(g) Golf Course, Golf Practice Areas, Ross Room and Golf Shop:Attire should meet the standards of good taste expected from the Members and their guests of the Club. Denim, tank tops, swimwear, jogging shorts, short shorts, cargo shorts, cargo pants or similar attire are prohibited. (Cargo shorts/pants are defined as having an exterior, sewn pocket on the leg of the shorts or pants.) Men’s shorts and ladies skorts, skirts and shorts, must be within six inches of the top of the knee. Golf shoes or Club approved shoes must be worn by all players. The Club requires the use of non-penetrating soft spikes. Men’s shirts must be tucked in and caps worn with the visor facing forward. Acceptable Golf Shirts for men: Polo shirts with collars, mock neck, turtle neck. For women collarless polo, mock neck, turtle neck, Zip neck, mandarin collar. Prohibited Shirts: Tank tops, t-shirts and fitness t-shirts.
(h) Dress Denim is non-distressed or faded, clean, uniform in color, and has no holes, rips, cuts, tears, or frayed material (by design or as a result of wear). The following types of denim of any color are not permitted anywhere dress denim is allowed: shorts, miniskirts, work type denim, cargo style, bibs, painter pants, denim jackets or denim that is worn low-cut or worn low slung.
(i) Dress Denim is not allowed to be worn in the following areas: Kalb Tennis Center and courts, golf course, golf practice areas, golf shop, Ross Room, Beresford Room, Ballroom, Peninsula Dining Room, Oval Bar and Oval Lounge.
